Marin Triathlon

Now in its fourth year, the Marin County Triathlon Weekend is continuing its tradition of being one of the world’s most environmentally conscious triathlons, while donating all of the net proceeds to charity.

Where does your entry fees go?
After expenses, all of the money goes to our beneficiaries – one reason nearly one half million dollars has already been raised via our events !

New for 2011 will be the Sprint distance event on Saturday joining the Kids Triathlon on Saturday and the Olympic distance Triathlon for Sunday … all taking place at McNear’s Beach County Park and China Camp State Park in San Rafael, California.

The Olympic distance event offers a refreshing 1.5K swim in San Pablo Bay; followed by a challenging 22 mile bike course through China Camp State Park; concluded by a 10K out and back run course along the waters of San Pablo Bay.
The Sprint distance is a 500 meter swim, 8 mile bike and 5K run.
The Kids’ Triathlon is a safe, enclosed course comprised of a lifeguard monitored pool swim (for kids 6 years and under) or short distance bay swim (kids 7-15 years old); a .5 to 3 mile bike course; and a .25 to 1.5 mile run on a paved path along San Pablo Bay.

Brought to you by the all volunteer Sustainable Sports Foundation, the Marin County Triathlon Weekend attracts first-time racers, seasoned triathletes, relay teams and professional and Olympic athletes from across the globe. With the courses’ connection to the natural landscape and commitment to sustainability, the Marin County Triathlon events are magnificently scenic, spectator friendly and gentle on the environment.
We hope you will join us for this year’s races, either as a participant, volunteer or sponsor.
